SiFrais.fr plans to expand everywhere in France

Home delivery of fresh produce

Founded by two food professionals with 30 years of experience in the sector, mainly at the Rungis market, SiFrais.fr is an online store for grocery shopping in just a few clicks. The founders worked on the project for almost three years, and opened the SiFrais.fr website in 2020. “This project was born out of the realization that large-scale distribution tends to stifle local production and artisanal know-how, and the desire to support small-scale producers,” according to the founders.

SiFrais.fr currently delivers to the Alpes-Maritimes department and Monaco but aims to expand everywhere in France.

The groceries are delivered from Monday to Friday (7am to 9pm), and on Saturdays from 7am to 12pm, to homes, workplaces and even campsites.

The home delivery trend has changed
“The products are purchased directly when ordered, and they are delivered the same day or the next. One of our strengths is that we do not keep anything in stock. We offer ultra-fresh produce. The orders placed before 11pm are delivered the next day from 11am onwards. If the order is placed before 5pm, it can be delivered the following day from 7am.”

This model is increasingly appealing to consumers. “The trend has changed, especially since the pandemic. People no longer have the time or inclination to queue up in supermarkets. Home delivery is practical, and we remain fairly competitive with supermarkets in terms of price.”

Unusual products
From pink bananas and trumpet zucchinis to black lemons and fresh peppers, the two co-founders want to offer their clients an original range of products, and not only for fruit and vegetables. “Our aim is to regularly offer products that cannot be found everywhere, especially in supermarkets. We have a lot of gourmet clients who like to discover new flavors, and new unusual products,” explains Juba Ghaoui, one of the founders.

Development in France
SiFrais.fr wants to continue its development in France and expand its delivery area, which is currently limited to the Alpes-Maritimes department and Monaco. It will gradually be extended to the whole PACA region and then to the rest of France by October 2023.
