Starting in 2023, Faby Frucht will exclusively market the products of Gemüsebau Niemöller in Bremen

"Our wholesale customers particularly appreciate the quality brand"

From 2023 onward, fruit wholesaler Faby, with locations in the Alte Land region and at the Bremen wholesale market, will exclusively market the products of the Visbek vegetable farm Niemöller in the greater Bremen area. This means the already existing and successful partnership between producer and marketer will be intensified, both companies confirmed. Gemüsebau Niemöller produces a wide range of cucumbers and tomatoes to the latest standards, for example on coconut substrate and with organic pesticides. The products are still partly marketed via the company's own stand sales at the Bremen wholesale market; this wholesale division will now be taken over completely by Faby in the new year.

"We have already been purchasing the entire range from Gemüsebau Niemöller for many years, from cucumbers to TOVs and cherry tomatoes to unusual varieties such as safari, San Marzano and ox heart tomatoes. This enables us to offer high-quality and, above all, regional tomatoes from April to mid/late November," says Maximilian Mellenthin, buyer and seller at Faby Fruchtgroßhandel & Co at the Bremen wholesale market.

Nice recognition value, low complaint rate
At the moment, the tomato season is in its final phase, Mellenthin continues. "There is still enough produce available, but we will probably receive the last batches from this year's harvest in week 47. Although consumer purchasing power is weakening due to the rising inflation, demand for regional vegetables remains high and stable. Only the purchase quantity per customer, whether weekly market traders, food retailers or restaurants, is somewhat lower than usual. However, our wholesale customers particularly appreciate the Niemöller brand, even if foreign goods are generally offered at somewhat lower prices. Due to the producer's high quality standards and the correspondingly low complaint rates, the pricing is justified."
