Blue Whale opens an office in Singapore

A key player in the French apple export market, Blue Whale is now starting a new chapter in its development with the creation of an office in Singapore. This will allow the group to strengthen its presence in order to recreate links on the markets and be closer to its clients and consumers.

Blue Whale has been present in Asia for 50 years already and Singapore will now be the strategic hub for a team of two people, supported by the Asia market team based at the company’s headquarters in France (Montauban).

“The satisfaction of our clients has always been a priority at Blue Whale and having a team on site will allow us to work more closely with our partners,” explains Pascal Marrocq, business unit manager Asia Americas & trade. “We are also convinced that Asia is the place to be for our innovations and new varieties to help our producers thrive.”

Blue Whale markets the Gala, Granny Smith, Kissabel®, Pixie®, Candine® and organic Candine® varieties in Asia.

Blue Whale has built some history in Asia and thanks to our broad portfolio of varieties, we hope to grow even faster with our partners,” explains Julien Baumann, regional sales manager.

“We look forward to making our delicious French apples known to even more consumers,” explains Benoît Barache, regional marketing manager. “With the rise of the middle class in Asia, we have the opportunity to target more and more consumers with quality and premium products.” These consumers are particularly attracted to colorful and sweet fruit. In Asia, “apples are also associated with gift-giving. Traditionally, apples are offered on a lunar new year such as the Chinese New Year and the Tet Festival.”
