Serfruit has become part of the Giró Group

"Giro' Group has acquired the majority of shares in the company Serfruit and also in the company Sersuport, of which the latter offers technical service to the group. Thanks to this union, Giro' has added the ability to automate the packaging systems from sorting to palletizing, so that it can also be a supplier in other sectors, such as packaging," said Franco Locati, sales manager of Girò Italia, specialized in packaging solutions.

The current owners of Serfruit/Sersuport will continue to be partners and managers of the Giró Group and will therefore continue to run the two companies.

The Giró Group, founded in 1925, was founded in Badalona in the industrial district of Barcelona and is highly specialized in the fruit and vegetable packaging sector. The group was a first mover in network packaging and is has now five production sites in Spain, one in the United States and one in France, and subsidiaries in the United States, Mexico, Germany and Italy. The brand's network of distributors has an extensive presence across five continents.

Serfruit, founded in 1990 and based in Náquera (Valencia), is a well- established company in Spain, which provides solutions for the mechanization, automation and robotization of industrial equipment in various sectors, particularly in the fruit and vegetable sector.

With the acquisition of Serfruit, the Giro' Group will further secure a turnover of more than 170 million euros and a workforce of 800 employees. The commercial and technical departments of Giró and Serfruit/Sersuport will continue to operate exactly as before, with the aim of making the most out of synergies and innovation by sharing joint projects and cementing leadership positions together.
