The European Commission has approved the UK's controls for exporting fruits and vegetables to the European Union as they conform to their marketing standards.
According to the Implementing Regulation 2021/1926 published in the Official Journal of the European Union, the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will be in charge of these controls. In the case of England and Wales, the Horticulture Marketing Inspectorate will be responsible for these controls; in the case of Scotland, it will be the Scottish Government's Horticulture and Marketing Unit; and in North Ireland, it will be the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.
This regulation, which will enter into force seven days after its publication, modifies Annex IV of Implementing Regulation 543/2011 and repeals Implementing Regulation 2020/2102.
