Obst vom Bodensee Vertriebsgesellschaft (OvB for short) is celebrating its 25th anniversary and with it 25 years of passion for freshness and quality. In keeping with the birthday, OvB is also presenting its new online presence.
OVB foundation
25 years ago, the increasing concentration in the trade required a courageous decision and so VEBO-Frucht and WLZ (today BayWa AG) jointly founded OvB. The goal then, as now, was the joint marketing of Lake Constance fruit. And so OvB started joint marketing on 01 October 1996 and the former competitors quickly learn to pull together. Hans Knöpfler, former managing director of OvB, also says today: "If OvB didn't exist, we would have to invent it today."

Partner of the trade
Obst vom Bodensee Vertriebsgesellschaft has been active in fruit marketing for 25 years now. From the beginning, the focus has been on close cooperation with the food retail trade as well as with the more than 600 affiliated growers and 8 packing houses. Together, professional production and marketing structures for the food retail trade could be created. Michael Büser, Managing Director of OvB, comments: "The satisfaction of our customers is our top priority. In addition to our products in unique quality, absolute reliability and the highest level of service are a matter of course for us. Just like the fast implementation of individual customer solutions."

Wide range of varieties and brands
In addition to its professional production and marketing structures, OvB has a wide range of varieties and brands. This includes, among others, numerous premium club varieties. The Lake Constance region has also been active in the organic sector since 1999 and therefore has access to a large marketing volume, which will continue to grow in the coming years. Already today, every 10th fruit marketed by the OvB comes from organic cultivation.
Sustainable packaging
The OvB is continuously working on sustainable packaging solutions and on the reduction of plastic. The alternative cardboard packaging used is optimized to offer the highest possible stability and protection of the fruit with good visibility of the contents. Since 2021, all cardboard packaging has also been sourced from FSC®-certified cultivation. In addition to plastic-free packaging, alternative packaging materials such as grass fiber and cellulose netting are also used.
