Current nectarine, peach, and Saturn peach sales are going well. That is according to Erik-Jan Thur of Marni Fruit in the Netherlands. "Their availability isn't wholly disappointing either. Though it varies considerably per growing area. All the supplies are, however, arriving a bit late," he says.

"Demand is good, although it's noticeably vacation time. And the weather's not great. The Saturn peach demand has actually been good all along. There are slightly fewer of these, and customers aren't afraid to order entire pallets. Clients order only the peach and nectarine quantities they need."
"I'm selling peaches for between €5.50 and €6.50 at present. There's also more market demand, but when prices rise, sales immediately slow. But those are better than melon prices," Erik-Jan explains.
"That market is very quiet. Watermelons are going for around €0.35 to €0.40/kg. Yellow melons are selling at between €5 and €5.50 for 9 kgs. That's nothing to write home about either."
"The Spanish cherry season is over again. That was an excellent season for volumes, prices, and quality. The Dutch cherry season will end soon too. Meanwhile, the first Spanish Osteen mangos are arriving. Prices are at a level of about €12 to €13 for 4kg," concludes Erik-Jan.
