The Almeria-based company Explotaciones Agrícolas Hermanos Chumbos, with headquarters in Pulpí and specialized in the production and marketing of leafy vegetables, has become one of the main lettuce suppliers for the fast-food restaurant chain McDonald's in the eastern Peninsula. The firm is supplying Iceberg and Romaine lettuce through the French wholesaler Florette.

Explotaciones Agrícolas Hermanos Chumbos is one of the agricultural companies specialized in open ground cultivation that has grown the most in the province since it was founded in 2012. It has almost 1,000 hectares of crops in Pulpí, Cuevas del Almanzora and El Ramonete de Lorca and generates more than 300 jobs.

Lettuce, the flagship product

It also produces smooth and curly endive, pointed cabbage, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and celery with the aim of covering the entire season. It is also involved in the cultivation of melons and watermelons sold in the domestic market.
