Hessing Supervers takes over onion processor Peter CV

Hessing Supervers, one of the largest suppliers of fresh cut fruit and vegetables in the Netherlands, announces the acquisition of Peter CV; an onion processor in the Municipality of Dinteloord, Noord-Brabant. The contract for the acquisition was signed by both parties this week. Onion specialist, Peter CV supplies sliced ​​onions of the highest quality to various clients, including a large quick service restaurant chain. Neither party has disclose any financial details with regards to this transaction.

The company, Peter CV  with an annual turnover of more than € 9 million; 30 permanent employees, will operate independently under the umbrella of Hessing. The employees of Peter CV continue to work at the production location in Dinteloord. The two current directors will also stay on for the continuity and the preservation of knowledge and experience. With the acquisition, Hessing brings the production facilities in house to produce onions in a separate location.

Focus on product group onions
"With this acquisition, we can achieve a significant improvement in the quality of onion products", says Frank Hessing, managing director of Hessing. "Peter CV can through his specialisation in onions, produce fresh and efficiently. Peeling the onions in Dinteloord provides a substantial gain in freshness and thus also a quality improvement in our end products with onion. In addition, the acquisition fits in well with our strategy that gives attention to further quality improvement. The power of the current Peter CV organisation is the focus on one product. Therefore we want to maintain the separate production of onions. "
