Andalusia's situation in the international market is currently the best ever, with record exports worth about 32,000 million Euro in 2018.
This has been achieved thanks to the success of Andalusian companies such as Frutos Los Pisaos, representing Malaga as finalist of the Alas Awards in the category 'Initiation to exporting'. Frutos Los Pisaos is now planning to open an office in Central Europe in order to give a boost to its internationalization process.
Based in the town of Motril, Frutos Los Pisaos is devoted to the production and export of horticultural products. This family business, which was founded in 2003, opted for organic farming since its inception, producing a wide range of fruits and vegetables of the highest quality, both in greenhouses and in the open ground.
The great demand for organic products from European countries led this company to venture into the international market five years ago. Since then, Los Pisaos has seen its share of exports increase year after year. In fact, the volume traded abroad has grown by more than 70%. This has been achieved mainly through European importers and wholesalers.
Some of its future projects include a focus on the development of new products and the opening of a delegation in Central Europe in order to provide a better service to its European customers, especially in the Nordic countries, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
"There are many people who have made a great effort and cared a lot about this project, and this award could serve as fair recognition," says Juan Carlos Valdés, head of the company's administration.
