After having achieved the respective phytosanitary admissibility permissions, the Netherlands and Argentina are two new destinations for the Colombian Hass avocado grown in the western and northern regions of the country.
Recently, through an intermodal logistics operation carried out jointly by Maersk, Broom Group and OPL, a container of Hass avocado was exported from Armero, in the department of Tolima, to Rotterdam (Netherlands). This door-to-door logistics integration is an alternative for exporting this fruit in bulk.
The shipment to the Netherlands consisted of 65 tons of Hass avocado and was made by the Westfalia Fruit Colombia SAS company. After this first shipment, the company will ship nearly 23 additional tons to complement the order.
Meanwhile, the Hass avocado destined for the Argentine market is part of a program carried out by the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), led by Deyanira Barrero, specifically with farms in the municipalities of Sonson, Urrao, and San Vicente, in Antioquia.
This is the first approach being made to the Argentine market, which will verify the quality of the Colombian Hass.
