A new partnership has been established between PerfoTec B.V., a company working in smart packaging technology, and Green Factory sp. z.o.o., a Polish producer of salads and vegetables and owner of the Fit&Easy and Primavega brands. The collaboration focuses on the application of laser perforation technology as part of Green Factory's modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) systems.

The technology adjusts the internal atmosphere of the packaging to slow product deterioration. According to the companies, extending freshness by several days can reduce losses at retail, distribution centres, and in households.
Both organisations state that the fresh produce supply chain faces increasing pressures from consumers and logistics demands. They describe the partnership as a response to those challenges, aimed at improving efficiency and reducing waste within the sector.
PerfoTec's Bastiaan Groeneweg said, "Anyone who spends time in this industry knows that real progress is made on the production floor. Over the past months, it has become clear that a strong partnership is forming between our teams. We strive to create a more cohesive, less wasteful fresh produce chain with the standards that Europe now needs. We believe the impact can reach far beyond our two companies."
The companies say the agreement reflects broader efforts to modernise packaging practices, support supply chain efficiency, and address sustainability objectives. They expect developments from the partnership to have wider relevance for European fresh produce operations.
