Azerbaijan imported 4,840 tons of cabbage (excluding cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli) valued at US$1.94 million during January–September 2025, according to data from the State Statistics Committee. This represents a 52-fold drop in value and a 71-fold decrease in volume compared with the same period in 2024.
Most of the supply came from Iran, which shipped 4,498 tons, an increase of 107 times year on year, valued at US$1.8 million, up 78 times from the previous year. Russia supplied 275.3 tons valued at US$110,100, whereas no imports were recorded from Russia during the same period in 2024.
Türkiye exported 60.2 tons to Azerbaijan, 3.5 times higher than last year, worth US$24,700, an increase of 3.6 times. The Netherlands supplied 6.26 tons valued at US$5,000, representing a 2.6 percent rise in volume and a 1.8 percent increase in value.
China exported 0.03 tons worth US$380. For the first time in 14 years of publicly available trade data, Azerbaijan recorded imports from Japan, totaling 0.01 tons valued at US$220.
The figures reflect changes in sourcing patterns as well as fluctuations in import demand for cabbage during the reporting period.
