Peruvian strawberry exports increased by more than 38% through October 2025

From January to October 2025, Peruvian strawberry exports grew by 30% in value and 20% in volume compared to the same period in 2024, with the United States as the main market and frozen strawberries accounting for the bulk of supply.

Sector data shows that Peru exported 26,003 tons of strawberries valued at $47.8 million. This represents a 37.1% increase in volume and a 38.5% rise in value compared to January-October 2024 (18,964 tons and $34.5 million). The average export price also increased from $1.70 per kg to $1.84 per kg, an 8.2% rise.

The United States remained the top market, accounting for $28.9 million (60.5% of the total). It was followed by Canada ($10.1 million, 21.1%) and Japan ($3.5 million, 7.3%). Other important destinations, such as Mexico, South Korea, and Panama, accounted for about 6.4% of total exports.

Frozen strawberries made up 95.5% of the export value ($45.7 million, 24,391 tons), while fresh strawberries contributed 0.8%, and other processed or dehydrated products made up 3.7%.

The sector shows ongoing growth and a strengthening presence of Peruvian strawberries in key international markets, supported by destination diversification and a preference for frozen products.
