Daily Group leads Georgian supermarket market - TBC Capital
TBC Capital has released its nine-month review of Georgia's FMCG market for 2025, forecasting 9.8% annual growth and total turnover reaching GEL 24.2bln. State-owned group could buy Carrefour's Polish stores, media reports
Poland's agriculture ministry has recommended a state-owned entity should purchase the Polish branch of French grocery giant Carrefour, Business Insider Poland reported. The outlet reported that the Polish Ministry of Agriculture submitted an official recommendation on November 23 for the National Food Industry Group (KGS), a state-owned food producer, to take over the roughly 800 Carrefour stores in Poland.

Poland: Eurocash Group reports stable Q3 despite market headwinds

Following its competitor Rewe, German supermarket chain Edeka is now also experimenting with an AI-powered robot that can cook. The retailer has opened a fully automated cooking station that can prepare hot meals without human intervention. Edeka wants to test whether it can offer its customers fresh meals without having to deploy too many staff. Cooking, serving, and even cleaning up afterwards can all be done autonomously.
