Blackberries used to hide 719 kg meth in Atlanta seizure

FBI Atlanta, along with law enforcement partners, seized 719 kilos (1,585 pounds) of crystal methamphetamine in a series of search warrants executed in Atlanta and Hall County on Friday night (November 21).

In Atlanta, federal, state, and local authorities searched a home on Custer Avenue SE and discovered 419 kilos of methamphetamine hidden in a shipment of blackberries inside a refrigerated truck parked outside the home.

In Hall County, deputies from Hall County, with assistance from the FBI and other partners, located another refrigerated box truck outside a business on McEver Road. Inside, 300 kilos of methamphetamine were discovered, also concealed in a shipment of blackberries.

Both seized shipments are believed to have been brought into the United States from Mexico.

Three men currently face state charges as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information on these cases is asked to contact the FBI Atlanta at tips.fbi.gov, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office at +1 770 830-1375, or the Hall County Sheriff's Office.
