The latest UK wholesale fruit report shows mixed movements across key categories, with several apple lines declining while some soft fruit recorded sharp increases.
Bramley's Seedling apples averaged £1.26 per kilogram, down from £1.37, a decrease of 8 per cent. Cox's Orange Group declined from £1.15 to £1.09, a 5 per cent drop. Egremont Russet rose from £1.35 to £1.41, an increase of 4 per cent. Braeburn fell from £1.30 to £1.21, down 7 per cent. Gala increased from £1.07 to £1.09, up 2 per cent.
Late-season apples averaged £0.97, down from £1.12, a decrease of 13 per cent. Conference pears averaged £1.15 per kilogram, compared to £1.08, an increase of 6 per cent. Doyenne du Comice eased from £1.07 to £1.04, down 3 per cent.
Raspberries showed the strongest movement in the report, rising from £11.46 to £16.00, an increase of 40 per cent. Strawberries averaged £6.12, slightly below the previous £6.14. Blackberries held steady at £15.20, unchanged week-on-week.
