The latest UK wholesale banana price report shows Dollar-origin fruit moving higher on the week, while ACP averages remained unchanged.
Belize was the only ACP origin with a quotation this week. Its average price held steady at £0.99 per kg, unchanged from the previous week. Cameroon and the other listed ACP suppliers had no prices reported.
Among Dollar suppliers, Colombia's average price rose to £0.87 per kg, up from £0.84, a 3 per cent increase. Costa Rica moved from £0.86 to £0.93 per kg, a rise of 9 per cent week on week.
Honduras recorded a sharper adjustment. Its average price increased from £0.68 to £0.79 per kg, a gain of 16 per cent.
Further south, Central American origins showed the strongest moves. Guatemala climbed from £0.74 to £0.97 per kg, an increase of 32 per cent compared with the previous week. Nicaragua rose from £0.70 to £0.81 per kg, up 16 per cent.
The aggregated ACP average (covering those origins with quotations) remained at £0.99 per kg, unchanged on the week. The Dollar group average increased from £0.78 to £0.88 per kg, a 13 per cent rise. Overall, the combined average for all reported origins stood at £0.88 per kg, up from £0.78 in the previous week.
