The Spanish citrus season is in full swing, which means that at Guido Fruit, its flagship Llusar is once again hitting the shelves. The Flemish importer has maintained a partnership with the renowned brand for more than 20 years, and this winter too, trucks from Spanish Llusar are travelling several times a week to the European Import Centre in Brussels.

"We follow the varieties of this premium brand throughout the season. And actually throughout the whole year, because we also receive Llusar citrus every week during the South Africa season," says business manager Guido Jr Heerman. He is once again satisfied with the quality this season. "It is definitely as it should be. The quality is good. The volumes are there. We have little to complain about," he laughs. "We are currently in the middle of the Clemenules, which is expected to continue until the new year. This will then be followed by the move to Nadorcott, Tango, and later Orri, among others."
The company mainly supplies wholesalers in the Benelux, but also fruit specialists, supermarkets, market vendors, exporters, and processors. This will not change anytime soon. "For us, these are excellent sales channels with reliable partners who appreciate quality. That is where taste matters. When you offer top quality, people are willing to pay for it, which is why demand is once again strong this season. In fact, we hardly ever have to worry about that."

"In that respect, it is also nice that we can work with Llusar's product, which is top tier for oranges and clementines," he explains. "The collaboration began more than 20 years ago with a few pallets, but we have been able to expand it year after year into a consistent, year-round supply. The brand really stands out for quality. Every year, we see many brands try to achieve the same. Yet none can actually sustain this all year long while guaranteeing the same top quality. It is the reason people keep knocking on our door."
