With winter approaching, it is time to think about frost protection fans. The electric fans produced by the Tuscan company Aria srl are a solution against late frost, but also against the excessive noise that sometimes creates discomfort around farms. The company has now installed many fans in various Italian regions, and is currently in full production in anticipation of the 2026 season, for which it has acquired orders from Italian and foreign fruit and vine growers in countries such as France, Poland, and Romania.

"Our 3-22 anti-frost fan is driven by an electric motor connected directly to the rotor, without transmission parts. It can be directly connected to the mains, or powered by a generator or tractor generator," explains Manuele Morelli, owner of Aria and design engineer.
© ARIA S.R.L.The choice of using electric motors instead of diesel engines is increasingly convincing to companies due to their many advantages when it comes to both use and maintenance. The electric motor and the absence of mechanical transmission parts eliminate the problems caused by many months of downtime and thus also greatly reduce maintenance costs. "An antifreeze fan has to stand idle for many months of the year: this damages traditional motors and makes restarting often difficult and very expensive," Morelli points out.
"The technical solutions adopted make Antibrina 3-22 one of the quietest frost fans on the market, and technical tests have shown that the noise level is about half that of traditional frost fans."
"Also for the new season, the market is confirming its interest in our mobile version of the Antibrina 3-22C fan, which is installed on a farm trolley," explains Manuele Morelli. "We have designed the only 10-metre-high mobile anti-frost fan. This is the same model, mounted on a foundation plinth, with the same performance in terms of coverage as the fixed fans, but with the flexibility of the mobile ones. The special design also allowed us to create a machine that is very compact and that, once closed, can be easily moved between the rows despite its height."

The company is pleased to announce that its distributor for the Piedmont region, CAP Nord Ovest Consorzio Agrario, has won an innovation prize thanks to its anti-freeze fan in the mobile version, i.e., Antibrina 3-22 °C. The prize was awarded by the Amleto Bertoni Foundation - city of Saluzzo, the organising body of the Agricultural Mechanics Exhibition, with the following motivation: "The Antibrina 3-22-C frost protection fan from ARIA srl offers effective crop protection without the need for a fixed tower or foundations. Mounted on a solid towable structure, it is easily positioned where needed and, thanks to the hydraulic tower that can be folded into three parts, it can reach a height of 10 metres while maintaining the same performance as the fixed versions."
"From 25 to 27 November, the Antibrina 3-22 fan will be on display at the Sitevi fair in Montpellier at our Terreco's stand, our distributor for France," the company concludes.
