The United States has removed reciprocal tariffs on several Costa Rican fruit exports, following a new executive order from President Donald Trump that targets goods not produced domestically in sufficient quantities. Costa Rica's Ministry of Foreign Trade confirmed that the exemptions apply to bananas, pineapples, cassava, orange juice, banana, and pineapple purées. These changes modify tariffs imposed earlier in 2025 under Executive Order 14257, which had raised duties to as high as 15 per cent on Costa Rican goods.
