Azerbaijan pear exports rise and reach new markets

In January to August 2025, Azerbaijan exported 5,384 tons of pears valued at US$3.45 million, marking year-on-year increases of 26 per cent and 34 per cent, respectively, according to the State Statistical Committee.

During this period, Azerbaijan sold pears to Russia, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Belarus, and the United Arab Emirates.

Russia imported 5,109 tons, up 26 per cent, valued at US$3.3 million, up 33 per cent.
Kazakhstan imported 150 tons, down 28 per cent, valued at US$72,000, down 27 per cent.
Qatar imported 15.72 tons, up 73 per cent, valued at US$24,800, which was 2.6 times higher than last year.

Belarus imported 26 tons valued at US$20,600, with no supply recorded a year earlier.
The United Arab Emirates imported 38.8 tons, five times more than last year, valued at US$15,500, which was twice the previous year's value.

In 2025, Azerbaijan also exported pears to Türkiye (17 tons valued at US$12,800), Mongolia (7 tons valued at US$5,600), Georgia (5 tons valued at US$2,500), and Moldova (1.6 tons valued at US$800) for the first time in 14 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.

In 2024, 95 per cent of the 9,100 tons of pears exported from Azerbaijan went to Russia.
