HK-Pack is once again presenting its proven range of trays, carrier bags, and packaging for the fruit and vegetable sector at expoSE in Karlsruhe this year. Thanks to the takeover of the Mannheim-based family business GERNET Print GmbH in spring 2025, the production possibilities in the area of printed carrier bags in particular have been significantly expanded, according to the Grafschaft-based packaging supplier.

75 years of experience in the packaging industry
Founded in 1950 by Helmut Gernet as a wholesaler for packaging materials and packing room supplies, GERNET Print GmbH has since developed into an internationally active provider of innovative packaging solutions. The company's core competencies primarily include customized, high-quality printed paper carrier bags. "With the new sister company Gernet Print in Mannheim, we have welcomed a strong partner into our corporate family that ideally complements the existing HK-Pack range, especially for the agricultural, food, and retail sectors," confirms Benjamin Wegner (pictured right), sales manager at HK-Pack, on request. Since May 2025, Gernet has been operating as an independent sister company under the leadership of Nils Herrmann, who was appointed managing director of HK-Pack in January 2024.

The expanded product range includes potato bags with viewing windows (left) and printed potato bags.
Gernet Print specializes in refining all kinds of carrier bags, among other things. Wegner: "In our own print shop, bags can be individually printed using various printing processes, even for single items. This allows us to quickly and flexibly produce high-quality designs for our customers according to their wishes."

Potato carrier bags with mesh punching
In addition to the further expanded range of cardboard strawberry trays, HK-Pack will once again be highlighting its proven potato carrier bags at the trade fair. "In addition to the well-known nine-hole punching, we now also offer variants with mesh punching directly from stock. In this way, we want to meet the increased demand in this area," Wegner continues.
