Grape Cold Storage Summary - 21 Oct:

U.S. grape storage volumes increase in mid-October 2025

According to U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) data, total table grape holdings in cold storage reached 11,986,852 cartons on October 15, 2025, up from 10,776,298 cartons on September 30, 2025. The increase reflects higher inventory across key table grape varieties, notably Autumn King, Allison, and Other White.

Autumn King holdings rose to 2,263,552 cartons, compared to 1,038,960 cartons on September 30. However, volumes remain below the 2,502,143 cartons recorded on October 15, 2024.

Autumn Royal stocks increased from 139,237 cartons to 187,338 cartons, still lower than the 252,182 cartons held at the same time last year.

Allison continued its rise, climbing from 619,712 cartons at the end of September to 1,459,425 cartons by mid-October.

For red seedless grapes, Jack's Salute expanded from 277,748 cartons to 458,614 cartons, while Scarlet Royal totaled 1,132,697 cartons on October 15 versus 1,359,055 cartons on September 30 and 1,503,304 cartons a year earlier.

Among mixed and other categories, Other White grapes reached 3,460,394 cartons, slightly lower than 3,690,714 cartons at the end of September, but above last year's 2,772,293 cartons. Other Red totaled 1,622,464 cartons, compared with 1,667,261 cartons two weeks earlier and 910,304 cartons in 2024.

Seeded varieties show mixed trends. Red Globe totaled 172,664 cartons, down from 180,422 cartons, while Sweet Globe/Sorbet was 255,700 cartons, down from 535,296 cartons.

Overall, total grape inventories increased by 1,210,554 cartons between late September and mid-October 2025. Compared to October 15, 2024, when total stocks stood at 10,968,312 cartons, the 2025 figure of 11,986,852 cartons is higher by 1,018,540 cartons.
