Growing sales abroad for mechanical weed control machinery

France, Spain, Algeria, Tunisia - these are just some of the latest countries to which the company Calderoni Rolando has exported its equipment for mechanical weeding and soil working in orchards and vineyards. But the Forlì-based company also has numerous customers in Eastern Europe. Among the most innovative equipment, the FPS is the reference model: it features a height-adjustable tiller head with hydraulic piston (2 oil quick couplings), a 1100 mm shaft, a blocking valve, double couplings to the lift, and a lever with steel wire for manual emergency recall.

The FPS is a specialised machine for inter-row cultivation in orchards, citrus groves, kiwi orchards, apricot, apple, lemon orchards, and orchards of fruit trees with large foliage. The machine is characterised by its high hydraulic side movement and interchangeable working tools. As Alessandro Calderoni specifies, "These are specific tools for working under the rows, for which a lot of precision and an agile component capable of moving away from the trunks without causing damage is required."

The aim is to uproot weeds close to the trunks, especially for espalier systems. The advantages lie in the gentleness of the feeler on the trunks, the high working speed, and the possibility of varying the type of work with the same machine.

The FPS rotary harrow model has additional hydraulic side displacement (two oil quick couplings), a height-adjustable head with hydraulic piston (2 oil quick couplings), a shaft with a 1100 mm clutch, a lever with steel wire for manual emergency recall, a blocking valve, and double couplings to the lift. The advantages include high side displacement, high working speed, limited soil and weed refinement, no problems on stony ground, no tilling sole, and a very gentle feeler.
