The Apple of Soria starts the procedures to obtain the PGI label

In the coming months, the apple from Soria could obtain the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) label, according to Gerardo Dueñas, the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Rural Development of La Junta. Dueñas stated they were working to obtain new quality labels for different products, including apples.

The apple sector in Soria, represented by companies such as Nufri, Altos de Yara, Frutas Queralt, and Ametller Origen, has been interested in obtaining a quality figure for several years; a process that has already officially started.
