Port International strengthens partnership with Agrícola Valenciana to promote citrus fruit

Port International, active in the fruit and vegetable industry with a longstanding commitment to strong partnerships with producers and service providers, is pleased to introduce Agrícola Valenciana in Spain as its exclusive partner. Since 1978, Agrícola Valenciana has been a trusted supplier of high-quality fruits to Port International, dedicated not only to quality but also to environmental protection.

Located just 70 km north of Valencia, Agrícola Valenciana's plantation offers ideal conditions for growing citrus fruits. The abundant hours of sunshine, stable winter temperatures without frost risk, and soil fertility provide optimal conditions for citrus orchards and are crucial factors for fruit quality. With a harvesting period from mid-September to the end of May and an area of over 50 hectares, Agrícola Valenciana exclusively produces 2,500,000 kg of high-quality oranges, clementines, and mandarins for Port International annually – with an upward trend.

Philippe Peiró, Managing Director of Port International European Sourcing GmbH and son of the founder of Agrícola Valenciana, explains, "I have a special connection to Agrícola Valenciana, as my father manages the plantation with his team in Spain and I have known the products since I was a little boy."

Agrícola Valenciana actively engages in sustainable projects, including the promotion of biodiversity through the planting of native trees and shrubs. The goal is to minimize environmental impacts and preserve fertile soils for future generations.
The Exclusive Partner Programme

Through Port International's Exclusive Partner Programme, partners and customers alike benefit from long-term decisions, planning security, and competitiveness. Participating producers can make their production more targeted and sustainable and receive support for innovations, sustainability, and marketing initiatives. The retail sector benefits from a reliable range of premium products and efficient information flow from the field to the point of sale.

As Philippe Peiró points out, "Thanks to the direct contact between Agrícola Valenciana, us at Port International, and the supermarket purchasing departments, we can make joint long-term decisions, enabling supermarkets to actively participate in shaping their product range."
