While fresh orange juice can now be pressed on-site at numerous retail markets, the pressing of apples at the point-of-sale is still in its infancy. The Düsseldorf-based company Kaffee Anders Handels Ltd aims to change this with a slow juicing process named Pomki for use in retail. The sophisticated process is designed to strengthen local fruit farming and minimize waste, the company reports.
Kaffee Anders Handels Ltd has a long tradition in distributing high-quality juicing machines in the retail and catering sectors. With the Pomki apple juice machine, made in Belgium, they now aim to set new standards. "The fresh apple juice is cold-pressed at a low speed, meaning with a slow juice flow. This way, most of the nutritional value is preserved. The fresh juice is pressed directly into a reusable bottle, without residues from the previous pressing. This slow juicing process not only gives the juice a fuller flavor but also results in minimal waste."
The Pomki apple pressing process has already been successfully implemented in some markets.
The concept is also intended to contribute to a unique shopping experience and the strengthening of local fruit farming. "Braeburn and Elstar - two varieties that can be found in almost all European fruit-growing regions, so they can be sourced locally.
