France's Leclerc supermarket chain recalls pesticide-laden vegetables

Leclerc, a prominent supermarket chain in France, is recalling a range of products, notably vegetables, from its stores in certain regions. The recall is due to the products exceeding the permitted pesticide limits. This move, taken amidst farmer protests, could further fuel their anger over demands including those related to timing and pesticides.

The affected products primarily include celery stalks, many vegetable mixes for cabbage soup, and other vegetables under the Garden Heart brand. Customers who have purchased these products are advised not to consume them but to return them to the store for a refund or dispose of them. The recall process will continue until February 6.

These products were sold between January 2023 and January 2024. Consumers can also reach out to Les jardin d’Aquitaine, the company marketing these products, for additional information about this recall.

While the recall is being initiated across France, it is necessary to specify the vegetable mix for the Garden Heart brand's cabbage soup. This product was marketed in several departments between January 11, 2023, and January 26, 2024.
