Dragon fruit orchards are lit up at night

A video captured by Brad Stewart, showing a bizarre sight from a plane window during a Vietnam to Melbourne flight, has stirred curiosity on TikTok. The footage, viewed over 14 million times, displays numerous small, glowing orange and yellow squares in the night below. Initially perplexing viewers, these lights turned out to be LED-illuminated dragon fruit farms in Vietnam.

This lighting method extends the fruit's growing season by simulating longer daylight hours, triggering flowering and fruiting. Despite the explanation, many TikTok users mistook the scene for confetti on a concert floor or post-it notes. The revelation about the dragon fruit farms surprised many, leading to further online discussions and interest.
