Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, El-Sayed Al-Qusayr confirmed that the total agricultural exports of Egypt, during the period from January to August amounted to about 4.49 million tons.
This is according to a report received by the ministry from Dr. Ahmed Al-Attar, head of the Central Department of Agricultural Quarantine, who explained that the most important agricultural exports are citrus fruits, potatoes, fresh onions, grapes, fresh tomatoes, potatoes, strawberries, fresh beans and guavas, garlic, mangoes, and watermelon.
The total agricultural exports of citrus reached one million and 626 thousand 694 tons, in addition to the export of 831 thousand 696 tons of fresh potatoes, ranking second in agricultural exports after citrus, while 280,498 tons of onions were exported, ranking third in exports.
