Coag Andalucia demands the end of preferential agreements with Morocco in view of the latest events at the border

"We hope that Spain and Europe come to their senses and do not succumb to Moroccan blackmail"

The agrarian organization COAG Andalucia sent a letter to the community authorities demanding the immediate stoppage of the preferential agreement that the European Union has established with the Moroccan dictatorship in matters of agricultural trade, after the events that occurred yesterday, May 19, on the Spanish border.

The provincial secretary of COAG Almeria and National Representative of Fruits and Vegetables of the organization, Andres Gongora, told the media that “Europe cannot maintain a trade agreement that only benefits investment funds, the Moroccan oligarchy, and a dictatorship that uses the humanitarian migration crisis from Africa to Europe for its political purposes.”

The Coordinator of Organizations of Farmers and Ranchers -COAG- of Andalusia demanded that the commercial agreements with the African country be immediately suspended, a demand that will be transferred to the Spanish MEPs and the competent government authorities.

"We hope that Spain and Europe come to their senses and do not succumb to Moroccan blackmail," said Gongora regarding the sad events that occurred yesterday on the Spanish border.
