Fueled by GrubMarket’s $20 million Series B round of funding in 2016, the deal marks the company’s effort to accelerate its produce supply-chain presence across the West Coast while expanding its offerings to retailers, foodservice providers and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
San Francisco-based GrubMarket offers a variety of organic and locally-sourced produce and grocery items up to 50% off prices of conventional grocers, according to the company website. Armed with a mission to “make fresh and healthy food accessible to everyone,” the farm-to-table e-grocer currently services California and metropolitan areas of Nevada.

Founded in 2003, So Cal Farm Network aims to develop a local produce supply chain that mirrors the efficiencies of mainstream agricultural distribution. It currently provides locally-grown produce to retailers including Whole Foods Market, Bristol Farms Market, Erewhon Market and Co-Opportunity Natural Foods.
