Onion and garlic prices stabilize in Port Moresby

Following a surge three weeks prior, onion and garlic prices in the city have stabilized, as indicated by a weekly market survey across six major markets. The survey revealed a decrease in garlic and onion prices, with garlic dropping to K1 per bulb and onion prices following suit. This adjustment comes after prices peaked at K2 and K1.50.

Additionally, the survey extended to other garden produce, noting variable prices. Cabbage supply was notably reduced, with prices ranging from K2 to K10 based on size and market. Carrot prices remained consistent at K1, with some markets offering bundles at K5. Aibika was commonly priced at K1, with larger bundles reaching up to K2. Ginger was available at K1 for a decent size, with larger quantities priced at K5, and the lowest at K0.50. Coconut and green beans were both priced at K1, with larger bundles of green beans available for K2 and K5 at specific markets.
