Brazil arrives at Asia Fruit Logistica with a delegation of nine companies

Nine Brazilian companies participating in Frutas do Brasil – the internationalization project of the Brazilian Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruits and Derivatives ( Abrafrutas ) with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency ( ApexBrasil ) – are present at this year's Asia Fruit Logistica .

The event takes place between the 6th and 8th of September, at AsiaWorld-Expo, located in Hong Kong, China. The fair covers the entire value chain of the fresh produce industry and service support companies, as well as the latest products and innovative ideas, gathering essential market information.

The president of ABRAFRUTAS, Guilherme Coelho, who is leaving for Hong Kong this Wednesday (30), says he is excited and very optimistic about new partnerships.

“It will be a very important opportunity for us to seek new commercial partners for our fruit growing business. There will be the main players of the entire global fresh produce business. We are going to present all our fruits, highlighting the grape, since we are very close to opening the Chinese market for it. The expansion of business will have a positive impact on the Brazilian economy, as we will be able to generate more jobs and income for people,” he said.

Importers and visitors who stroll through the fair's corridors cannot fail to check out the Frutas do Brasil stand, located in Hall n.º 05. Grand Valle, Castello/ABPM, Finobrasa, Coopa, Santa Felicidade, Lina Frutas, Ibacem, Supracitrus and Sweet Fruits.

Lara Secchi Coelho, director of GrandValle, comments that the process of opening the Chinese market for Brazilian grapes is already well advanced.

“GrandValle's participation in Asia Fruit Logistica will be an excellent opportunity to get to know this new market in loco, prospect customers and do business. The Asian market is still underexplored and we are very interested in expanding sales in the region”, he explains.
According to Jorge de Souza, project manager at ABRAFRUTAS, this is a great business opportunity for Brazilian companies. “Asian countries continue to be important trading partners for Brazil, especially for agribusiness” and represent 60% of the world's population, he explains.

According to the Association, apples, melons, grapes, mangoes and limes are the most exported fruits, especially to the Middle East bloc: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates – and to the Asian continent, in particular India, Bangladesh, China (Hong Kong) and South Korea.

“We are excited for the international reception of our fruits during the event. They will certainly be days of a lot of networking and negotiations, presenting the delicious Brazilian fruits,” concludes Jorge.
