Reliance to buy veggies from APMC

An understanding has been accorded between Reliance Company and Belgaum APMC to supply onions, potatoes and vegetables to the Reliance Food World. The APMC, which purchases farm produces directly from the farmers, will work as an agency between Reliance and farmers.

Meanwhile, opposing the accord, some APMC members said that this would create a temporary shortage of vegetables in the market.

They said that poor and middle class families will be affected if the prices of onions, potatoes and vegetables go up.
