Tasmania's high-quality orchard property portfolio is coming soon
In line with the growing interest of overseas investors in Apple Isle's agricultural production, cherry orchards and premium property portfolios in the internationally renowned Huon Valley area of Tasmania will be listed soon.
Jesse Manuel and Rawdon Briggs of Colliers International and Michael Warren of Landmark Harcourts Tasmania will sell a group of properties of Aussie Cherries Ltd (In Liquidation) on behalf of Liquidators KordaMentha. The property portfolio includes a total of approximately 78 hectares of land located in Forbes Bay Castle and Lucaston, of which approximately 42 hectares are cherry orchards, roughly 35 hectares of which are fitted with protective nets.
"These Aussie Cherries properties offer potential buyers the opportunity to get quality cherry gardens in one of the state's most precious gardening and tourist areas," Mr. Manuel said.
All the orchards are equipped with adequate pumping and irrigation infrastructure and they have water rights. The seller has made considerable investments in the protection of fruit trees and fruits by installing protective nets.
"These properties are developed, managed and maintained to a high standard. The fruit trees are in good health and are ready for production this year," Mr. Warren added.
"These orchards have proven to be capable of producing quality products suitable for the high-end export market and have diversified varieties, which are expected to be exported to a range of markets for a long time."
According to Mr. Warren, the orchard is equipped with a large packaging and refrigeration complex that provides cleaning, grading and packaging capabilities, office and staff facilities, and a cold room for the storage of produce.
These orchards are less than an hour's drive southwest of Hobart, and the region's international airports are currently experiencing strong capital growth.
Mr. Manuel said that this portfolio also provides an attractive real estate opportunity.
