This is where Germans like to shop

The research carried out by the communications consultants Factkontor on behalf of Focus Money analyses around 53 million statements on the Web about more than 3,000 brands from 146 industries, regarding customer preferences. In total, 851 brands deserved the "Customer Favourite 2018" label. These include 258 gold, 329 silver and 264 bronze awards. In addition to department stores, electronics stores and natural and organic markets, the study also awards accolades to the most popular furniture stores, drugstores and retail chains in Germany.

"A good reputation for one's own brand is extremely important for presentation to the outside world and for the success of a company," says Jörg Forthmann, Managing Partner of Factkontor. In the study, the statements on price, service, quality and reputation were analysed and evaluated. "Our analysis shows which brands score the highest and therefore deserve the title 'customer favourite'," says Forthmann.
