According to information released by the Directorate of Agriculture, out of the 28 samples taken between May 4th – 10th from various imported products, such as pear, cherry, wheat, apple, pepper, strawberry, tomato, barley and pomegranates, only one product, the golden variety apple, was found to be over the allowed pesticide residue limit and it was destroyed.

From the 35 samples taken in the same period from local products such as grape, cucumber, watermelon, pepper, parsley, tomato, beans, eggplant, melon, carrot, lettuce and onion, 5 products were found to be over allowed the pesticide residue limit and were destroyed as a result. The products destroyed were grapes, eggplants, tomato, pepper and parsley.
