Sofrupak will attend Macfrut to present its packaging range. Standard cardboard punnets are shipped flat and only require two steps to assemble. The packaging was designed with women in mind as, in Poland, they represent 90% of customers.
"We have created a product that is functional, appealing and eco-friendly which will definitely catch the attention of consumers. The option with the plastic lid is part of the SoFruMiniPak Premium range, destined to retail chains."
The main element considered when designing Sofrupak packaging systems was to improve air flow during the cooling process / cycle. A series of containers can be combined with SoFruBox, generating a complete packaging system. Air flow slits are positioned strategically and are paired with SoFruPak and SoFruMiniPak cooling vents. This leads to more efficient cooling so the produce can stay fresh for longer and have a better flavour.
"This system was rewarded with numerous national and international prizes: RedDot Design Award, WorldStar Packaging and, for the first time, a Polish company was nominated for the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award".
Bialski Owoc Sp. z o.o. is a group of producers gathering over 30 members growing apples and pears. The headquarters are located in Biała Rawska, an area famous for fruit cultivation.
"We sell our produce almost all year long and the main apple varieties are Lobo, Cortland, Delicates, Paulared, Champion, Jonagored, Jonagold, Red Jonaprince, Ligol, Rubinstar, Gloster, Red Chief, Gala Must, Royal Gala, Golden Delicious, Mutsu, Idared, Najdared. The pear varieties are Alexander Lucas, Conference."
"Partners cultivate 550 hectares in total, 85% of which are apples. All companies hold the IP, Brc and GlobalGAP certification. Our equipment means we can package the produce in a short time and meet client needs. The company can store up to 16,000 tons of fruit and even prepare it for selling. Thanks to two sorting lines, we can process 150 tons of fruit every day."
They will attend Macfrut to look for new technologies and find out more about the competition.
