China: Dongguang city expecting a bumper lychee harvest

Dongguan City has entered the season when lychees flower. Over 90% of the lychees in the city are in bloom and Lychee farmers are expecting a bumper harvest. The ratio of flowering lychee in the last two years was relatively low because of weather conditions. Only about 30% of the lychees was in bloom. Overall weather conditions this year have been good and lychees have prospered. Lychee flower buds require cold, and the cold season this year was relatively long. It lasted one month longer than usual. More than 95% of the buds flowered.
