Organic Revenue up 6,5%

In 2016, Landgard achieved the best results in the company's history

Landgard has finally made the turnaround and continues on the rocky road to success as a responsible industry leader. The result of interest, taxes and depreciations (EBITDA) as an indicator of operative profitability was 55 million Euro and even higher than the record numbers of last year. The sustainably positive development of Landgard also shows in the operating result (EBIT). With an EBIT of 28.6 million Euros, it was the best result in company's history.

The result of the taxes (EBT) was 7.2 million Euro - 2.2 million Euro above the special effect of the follow-up financing to correct last years' EBT (5 Million Euro) and again above planned numbers.

Assembly of representatives 2017

Clear growth of organic revenue
The positive development of the results in the producer association were held up by both segments. The segment for fruit and vegetable surpassed expectations for growth with 30% in the last two years. The segment for flowers and plants increased, despite adverse weather conditions in 2016. Including all segments, the revenue increased by 6.5% to 1.9 Billion Euros and therefore, developed much better than the general market.

The continuously positive development of Landgard is based on a strong, healthy and organic growth, as well as consistent optimization of cost. "The results show that our strategy, to focus on our main business and continuously lower costs of for materials and labor, was the right way to go," says Armin Rehberg, chairman of Landgard eG. "Landgard managed to finalize the turnaround and is on the road to success again, although the conditions are not ideal. Even more so: We are the new leaders for all of the industry when it comes to concepts, innovations, sustainability and digitalization as a cooperative marketer 4.0."
