Shanghai Junfan/Yijunde International help Costa Rican pineapples enter China

Recently, the first batch of Costa Rican pineapples arrived in Shanghai with the help of the cold-chain service from Shanghai Junfan/Yijunde International Freight Forwarding. "There are two separate batches this time, a small one by air and another by sea freight," said Mr. Lin from Shanghai Junfan/Yijunde International Freight Forwarding to FreshPlaza.

According SEPSA in Costa Rica, the country is the biggest exporter of pineapples with a total planting area of 43,000 hectares, but so far they have exported mainly to North America and Europe. Last year, the National Bureau of Quality Control published 'The Announcement of Inspection and Quarantine Standard for Imported Mexican Corn, British Barley and Costa Rican Pineapples' (2015, No. 139). After the Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan, Costa Rica become the fourth country allowed to export pineapples to China. "This batch of pineapples is the first one since the import permit became official in March last year. It's a milestone in the pineapple trade between the two countries and, after the air-freight pineapples have passed their inspection, the first container will also officially be available in the market in Shanghai this week."

Shanghai Junfan/Yijunde International Freight Forwarding provided professional cold-chain service to help this batch of pineapples successfully enter China. "Because it is the first batch of pineapples from Costa Rica, the exporter was not familiar with the preparation of the legal documents, information of the plantations, and other details and requirements from the National Bureau of Inspection and Quarantine. We kept close contact with the Commodity Inspection Bureau and with the support of the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in Shanghai, we managed to get the custom clearance done and the pineapples shipped to the Huizhan Market within 24 hours of their arrival."

Shanghai Junfan/Yijunde International Freight Forwarding Ltd. provides supply chain management for Imported fresh fruits and works closely with the Jiangnan Fruit Market in Guangzhou and the Huizhan Fruit Market in Shanghai. After the opening of the Huizhan Fruit Market in 2013, Junfan began its global cold-chain service for imported fruits, including oversea cargo, shipping rental, customs clearance, commodity inspection, cold container transport, etc. For some countries, we can even handle the collection of the fruits from the plantations, preparation of government documents and the shipping till the cargo arrives in the harbour of Shanghai before handing it over to our clients. Our goal is to provide the one-stop service for fresh fruits from the original production area overseas, all the way to the local market here in China.
