Reemoon pushes forward successfully in South Africa
“We have installed a 2-line machine at the Bufland in Naboomspruit. They farm is currently packing lemons. The owner showed me their company stats, and compared to last year the farm is packing 60% more cartons a day. More importantly is that the fruit quality has become more consistent. Word of mouth is spreading quickly, and through this first project we have gathered plenty new sales leads,” says Pierneef Smit proudly, the office manager in the country.

“People that have heard of us won’t contact us directly. Instead they will the growers or packers already using the machines for their honest feedback. Because our machines are receiving positive feedback from our earlier customers, this is helping us a lot.”
Reemoon has recently produced a 6-line machine that has just arrived at the Swaziland Ngunini Estate. It will start packing oranges on June the 20th. Another 2-line machine is currently under construction, and will be delivered around July 2017.

“There is a trend ongoing in South Africa that farmers are increasingly putting up own packing houses, instead of outsourcing these services. Currently, 8% of growth in this market segment is driven by new investments. In addition, we are able to gain market share because we deliver good quality and are price competitive.”
Reemoon has recently opened a new office in Tzaneen, Limpopo. Here the company is locating it’s technical staff, office personal and sales team, and there is room for growth. In July, a new South African technician will join the company’s team. The company is training local technicians to respond to any problems that might occur with the machines. "Our pledge is that we can be onsite within hours if a problem occurs. One of the main reasons why Reemoon has grown so quickly in China is the company’s speed of after-service and responsiveness. This is vital during season when packhouses are used to their full capacity."
