Stahmann Farms secures major equity partner to support ambitious growth

Stahmann Farms Enterprises (SFE), originally the Australian arm of a family pecan farming business dating back to 1932 in New Mexico, USA, is Australia’s largest pecan grower and processor.

The business, which is headquartered in Toowoomba (QLD) with farms near Moree (NSW), has enjoyed rapid growth over the past decade and is now embarking on a new phase with funds to support significant new expansion projects.

The new shareholder, the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), is one of Canada’s largest pension investment managers and is uniquely positioned to seize opportunities and maintain its investments for the long term.

The existing owners will retain a substantial stake in the business. On the back of booming demand for tree nuts, future investment is expected to support regional development in new and existing locations in NSW and QLD, promoting skilled employment and leading to increased export earnings over the long term.
