Shanghai firm to invest 380 million RMB in blueberry plantation

The Shanghai Changjie Ecological Constructions and Engineering Llc is considering a plan to invest 51.9 million EUR (380 million RMB) in order to set up a base of operations for blueberry production in Yongshan county (Yunnan province). Included in this investment are the 27.31 million EUR (200 million RMB costs) needed to purchase the saplings and plants for the operation, and a fixed property investment of 24.59 million EUR (180 million RMB).

At the same time, the company is going to construct a blueberry plantation of 1333 hectares (20.000 mu). It will adopt methods that combine business and agriculture; spur local farmers to expand their blueberry estates to somewhere between 1333 and 6667 hectares (20.000 - 100.000 mu); establish an assembly line to yearly process 15,000 tons of fresh blueberries, and plan out how to grow about 400 different kinds of seedlings within the year.
