Pintung pineapples collaborate with Walmart for the first time

Pineapples from Pintung county (Taiwan) are being rushed into Walmart supermarkets on the Chinese mainland. They are being sold starting today and will be available for 2 months. The government of Pintung said that in the near future, wax apples, guavas, lemons, mangoes and other variants will be sold in China through the Walmart system.

The government of Pintung county joined forces with a Taiwanese company, which deals in the international distribution of agricultural goods. Fruit festivals will be held in Walmart supermarkets on the 28th in Xiamen and on the 29th in Beijing.

The government of Pintung says that the pineapples are high in sugar and the pulp and fibers are extremely fine. The pineapples are loved by many customers on the Chinese mainland, so the government decided to start selling the goods to them specially. There is a QR code on the packaging of every pineapple, that immediately shows the consumer more details about the circumstances in which the pineapple was cultivated; the production process and the procedures during which the pineapples were inspected. All it takes is just scanning the code a single time.

In the next few days almost 500 Walmart stores all over the mainland will have the pineapples on their shelves. This is the first time Pintung county has cooperated with Walmart. The Pintung government states that after the two scheduled months, exports to the mainland market are likely to grow steadily and will continue to have a certain market share.
