China introduces new standards for 'vegetable soap'

According to a report from Xinhua, the washing industry is welcoming a new revolution. A Chinese member of the hygiene council announced the 'Chinese Food Safety Standards for washing detergent' (hereafter called 'the Standards'). These new standards are going into effect on September 22 next year.

Dishwashing liquid is one of the washing detergents most frequently used by consumers. Because it comes in direct contact with food, the safety and healthiness of these products have always been watched closely by the large bulk of consumers. In the future, the consumer will be able to buy 'dishwashing liquid for food' in the supermarket in accordance with the categories drawn by the Standards.

The Standards implemented on September 22 give an authoritative delimitation of 'dishwashing liquid for food'. The Standards give a detailed formulation of the ingredients for A-level dishwashing liquid that can come in contact with food products or beverages. The ingredients for the production of the washing detergent all have to be included in the 'Ingredients List for Dishwashing Liquid for Edible Products', published by the members of the hygiene council.
