Pesticide residue in Chinese export peppers

On August 16 2016, the Food Health Inspection Bureau of Taiwan announced online that residue of a few pesticides was too high in fresh chilli peppers exported from mainland China. Concentrations of 0.08 ppm of tolfenpyrad and 0.03 ppm of prochloraz were measured. According to the "approved amount of residual pesticide", the maximum amount for these substances is 0.01 ppm.

The weight of this batch was 17,500 kg. It was received at customs on July 11. The importing company was Shuke Thailand International Enterprise, with the manufacturer's code CNYZO. The rejected goods will be shipped back or destroyed according to stipulations.
