The Pakistan Mango Festival has become an annual event for mango lovers in the Netherlands. On August 4, the Mango Festival, organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with TDAP, took place in the Hilton Hotel, The Hague.
Pakistani mangoes are known for their sweetness and taste. The festival's participants, which included leading business executives from the Netherlands, officials from the Dutch Government, Ambassadors based in the Netherlands and various journalists, enjoyed mango tasting at the event.
Fresh mangoes, mango juice, mango shakes and other mango recipes were served with Pakistani cuisine.
Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Managing Director of Imtiaz Enterprises says that the demand for Pakistani mangoes is constantly increasing in the country and the event received a highly positive response from the public, which appreciated the taste of the Pakistani mangoes.
The Pakistan Ambassador and officers of the embassy were present at the event. The Commercial Counsellor provided information to the importers on the potential of Pakistan’s horticulture sector. They mingled with the general public and answered their questions, along with one of the leading mango importers, Mr. Rashid Zaidi of AZ Enterprises.
Mr. Imtiaz said that, after overcoming phytosanitary issues, TDAP is trying to increase the share of Pakistani mangoes in the EU mango market this season by arranging several mango shows with leading Pakistani exporters.
